This project was an exploration of what art is or can be. It questioned how we assign value to images and how unused work can take on new meaning.
I revisited my archive, selecting photos that had been left behind, test shots, extras, images I once deemed insignificant. By pairing them with text and turning them into postcards, I tried to them a new purpose, transforming them into something tangible and shareable.
At a souk at De Voorkamer (cultural centre in Utrecht), I invited visitors to reflect on the question: ‘What does art mean to you?’ In exchange for their thoughts, they could take postcards home. By first questioning my own perception of art and then opening that dialogue to others, the project explored the fluid and personal nature of artistic value.
